Dear/ importers of poultry meat, table eggs, products and equipment
Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you, and would like to inform you of the letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers No. (859) dated 10/4/1440, which was attached to the letter of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment No. 15270 dated 6/4/1440, which is referring to the decision of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. (22018) dated (18/3/1440), which includes a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, table eggs, products and equipment from the VORONEZHSKAYA OBLAST region in the Federal Republic of Russia.
The ban is based on the information contained in the Warning Bulletin issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) No. 28326 and dated 28/2/1440, which indicates the emergence of highly pathogenic avian influenza.
The only exception of the temporary ban if the poultry meat, table eggs are thermally treated products, or in any other manner, that is sufficient to eliminate the avian influenza virus, which to be in accordance with the requirements and health controls and approved standard specifications with attaching a certificate of health to prove that the product is thermally treated, or in any other way that is capable of eradicating the avian influenza virus that is issued by competent official authorities from the Russian Federation.
